AN ACT TO AMEND THE PROVINCIAL COUNCILS ELECTIONS ACT, No. 2 OF 1988

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows: “

Short title.
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Provincial Councils Elections (Amendment) Act, No. 29 of 1990.
|
|
Amendment of section 10 of Act No. 2 of 1988.
|
2. Section 10 of the Provincial Councils Elections Act, No. 2 of 1988, is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section by the substitution, for the words and figures ” Article 154B (8) (c) of the Constitution or in case of”, of the words and figures ” Article 154B (8) (c) of the Constitution or by reason of the operation of section 5A of the Provincial Councils Act, No 42 of 1987 or in the case of “.

Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency.
|
3. In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
