Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (Amendment)

AN ACT TO AMEND THE BUDDHIST AND PALI UNIVERSITY OF SRI LANKA ACT, No. 74 OF 1981.

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:-

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (Amendment) Act, No. 21 of 1986.

Amendment of section 7 of Act No. 74 of 1981.

2. Section 7 of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka Act, No. 74 of 1981 (hereinafter referred to as the principal enactment), is hereby amended by the substitution, for the words Any subject related to Buddhism and the Pali Language, of the words Any subject related to Buddhism, or Pali studies.

Retrospective operation.

3. Section 7 of the principal enactment as amended by section 2 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the date of coming into operation of the principal enactment.
