Air Ceylon (Amendment) AN ACT TO AMEND THE AIR CEYLON ACT. BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives of Ceylon in. this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: – Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Air Ceylon (Amendment) Act, No. 40 of 1971. Insertion of new section 4A in Chapter 280. 2. The following new section Is hereby Inserted immediately after section 4, and shall have effect as section 4A, of the Air Ceylon Art, hereafter referred to as the ” principal Act “:- ” Power of the Minister to issue directions to the corporation. 4A. The Minister maw from time to time, either of his own motion or after consultation with the corporation, give to the corporation in writing general or special directions as to the performance of its duties and the exercise of Its powers, and the corporation shall give effect to such directions “. Amendment of section 9 of the principal Act. 3. Section 9 of the principal Act is hereby amended as follows:- (a) in sub-section (1) of that section by the substitution, for the word ” three ” of. the words ” not more than five “; and (b) in sub-section (3) of that section by the omission of the words ” public officer or a “.
