Municipal Councils And Urban Councils (Amendment)

AN ACT TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL COUNCILS ORDINANCE AND URBAN COUNCILS ORDINANCE.

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Municipal Councils and the Urban Councils (Amendment) Act. No. 5 of 1983.

Amendment of section 272 of Chapter 252.

2. Section 272 of the Municipal Councils Ordinance is hereby amended, by the substitution for sub-paragraph (d) of paragraph (8) thereof, of the following subparagraph :

” (d) the erection of hoardings and other temporary structures, or any decoration of any type, on or abutting any street, and the charging of fees for any permits issued in that connection ; “,

Amendment of section 157 of Chapter 255.

3. Section 157 of the Urban Councils Ordinance is hereby amended by the substitution, for sub-paragraph (f) of paragraph (7) thereof, of the following sub-paragraph:

” (f) the erection of hoardings and other temporary structures, or any decoration of any type, on or abutting any street, and the charging of fees for any permits issued in that connection ; “.
