Municipal Councils And Urban Councils (Amendment) Law A LAW TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL COUNCILS ORDINANCE AND THE URBAN COUNCILS ORDINANCE BE it enacted by the National State Assembly of the Republic of Sri Lanka as follows: – Short title. 1. This Law may be cited as the Municipal Councils and Urban Councils (Amendment) Law, No. 18 of 1977. Amendment of section 272 of the Municipal Councils Ordinance (Chapter 252). 2. The Municipal Councils Ordinance is hereby amended in section 272 thereof, by the insertion, immediately after paragraph (31), of the following new paragraph:- “(32) The control of parking of motor vehicles within the Municipality by providing parking places and collecting the prescribed fee for parking such motor vehicles in such places: Provided that the preceding provisions of this paragraph shall not apply in respect of motor vehicles of the Ceylon Transport Board.” Amendment of section 157 of the Urban Councils Ordinance (Chapter 255). 3. The Urban Councils Ordinance is hereby amended in section 157 thereof, by the insertion, immediately after paragraph (14), of the following new paragraph: – “(14A) The control of parking of motor vehicles within the Urban Council area by providing parking places and collecting the prescribed fee for parking such motor vehicles in such places: Provided that the preceding provisions of this paragraph shall not apply in respect of motor vehicles of the Ceylon Transport Board.”.
