Law Commission (Repeal) AN ACT TO REPEAL THE LAW COMMISSION ACT, NO. 3 OF 1969. BE It enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty: by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives of Ceylon in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows; – Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Law Commission (Repeal) Act, No. 8 of 1972. Date of operation. 2. This Act shall come into operation on such date as the Minister of Justice may appoint by notification published in the Gazette. Repeal of Act No. 3 of 1969. 3. The Law Commission Act, No. 3 of 1969, hereinafter referred to as the ” principal Act ” is hereby repealed. Terminations of the term of office of existing Commissioners. 4. Notwithstanding anything in the terms of appointment of the Commissioners of the Law Commission established under the principal Act and holding office on the day immediately preceding the date of operation of this Act, the term of office of each such Commissioner is hereby terminated.
