Employees’ Provident Fund AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE RETROSPECTIVE OPERATION OF CERTAIN PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE RECOVERY OF ARREARS OF PAYMENT DUE FROM EMPLOYERS UNDER THE EMPLOYEES’ PROVIDENT FUND ACT, NO. 15 OF 1958. BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Representatives of Ceylon in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: – Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Employees’ Provident Fund (Special Provisions) Act, No. 24 of 1971. Retrospective operation of certain provisions relating to the recovery of arrears of payment due from employers. 2. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in section 1 of the Employees’ Provident Fund (Amendment) Act, No. 8 of 1971, the new section 38 inserted in the Employees’ Provident Fund Act, No. 15 of 1958, by section 12 of the Employees’ Provident Fund (Amendment) Act, No. 8 of 1971, shall, for all purposes, be deemed to have come into operation on the date of the commencement of the Employees’ Provident Fund Act, No. 15 of 1958.
